PALANGKA RAYA – EXECUTIVE ADMINISTRATION BUREAU. The Provincial Government of Central Kalimantan through the Office of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises held a Digital Transformation Training activity towards Modern Cooperatives for Management of Indonesian Civil Servant Cooperative (KPRI) in Regency/Municipality in Central Kalimantan in 2022.

The Provincial Secretary represented by Assistant for Economics and Development Leonard S. Ampung officially opened the Digital Transformation Training activity, which was held at the Puruk Cahu Meeting Room, Neo Palma Hotel, Palangka Raya, on Monday, June 13, 2022.

This training is one of the efforts to support and optimize the application of digital platforms in the management of cooperatives in Central Kalimantan, so that cooperatives are able to develop to further drive community economic activities, in order to support national economic recovery.

“It is our common hope that this training can make a real contribution in encouraging the digitalization of cooperatives in the regions towards modern cooperatives, which are able to adapt and firm,” said Provincial Secretary Nuryakin in a written remarks delivered by the Assistant for Economics and Development.

He also emphasized that digital transformation for cooperatives and MSMEs has become a must. Along with the Industrial Revolution 4.0 era, economic activities are required to shift from conventional methods to become more modern through digitalization. Moreover, digitalization has become a solution for MSMEs and cooperatives to survive and grow in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The COVID-19 pandemic has also accelerated this shift, where business and economic activities have changed from being offline to online, and the use of digital technology is more massive,” explained the Provincial Secretary through the Assistant Leonard S. Ampung.

“For this reason, an ecosystem approach is needed that includes digital transformation of business processes from upstream to downstream or end-to-end digital transformation, as well as assistance and training for cooperatives,” he added.

He further explained, digitalization is a means for cooperatives to be able to play a more optimal role in assisting business actors and the community in obtaining access to capital and business development training.

“In order to continue to optimize this strategic role, cooperatives are required to adapt to the times, one of which is through digitizing cooperatives,” concluded the Provincial Secretary as conveyed by the Assistant.

Meanwhile, Acting Head of the Central Kalimantan Province Cooperatives and SMEs Office, Norhani, in her report explained that the Digital Transformation Training was attended by around 30 participants and will last for 5 days (12 to 16 June 2022), presenting speakers from the National Cooperative Education Institute, the Central Kalimantan Province Cooperatives and SMEs Office, and Palangka Raya Cooperative Education Institute.

Being present at the opening of the training were speakers from the National Cooperative Education Institute Rezza Akbar Syabani and Administrators and Functional Officers of the Central Kalimantan Cooperatives and SMEs Office. (set/fen/transl.feb)
