PALANGKA RAYA – EXECUTIVE ADMINISTRATION BUREAU. Chair of the Regional Representative Council of the Republic of Indonesia (DPD RI) AA Lanyalla Mahmud Mattalitti conducted a work visit to Central Kalimantan Province on January 17-18 2022.

The arrival of the Chair of DPD RI and his entourage was welcomed by Deputy Governor of Central Kalimantan H. Edy Pratowo at the VIP Room, Tjilik Riwut Airport, Palangka Raya, Monday (17/1/2022) morning. Also being present in the entourage were members of DPD RI from East Java Province, from Central Kalimantan Province who serves as Deputy Chair of Committee III DPD RI H. Muhammad Rakhman, from Central Kalimantan Province who serves in Committee IV DPD RI Habib Said Abdurrahman, from Aceh Province who serves as Chair of Committee I DPD RI H. Fachrul Razi MIP, from  Lampung Province who served as Deputy Chair of Committee II DPD RI H. Bustami Zainudin, and from South Sulawesi Province who served in Committee II DPD RI Andi Muh. Ihsan, as well as Special Staff, Expert Staff, and the Secretariat of the DPD RI.

The work visit of the Chair of DPD RI to Bumi Tambun Bungai aimed to attend a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) with the theme “Pancasila Economic System for Sovereign Indonesia” which was held in Rahan Hall, Rectorate Building of the University of Palangka Raya (UPR), Monday (17/17). 1/2022) noon.

The entourage was greeted with Pantan Balanga and a traditional procession held by Rector of UPR Andrie Elia Embang in front of the Rector’s Lobby. On this occasion, Lilis Lamiang was pinned by Rector of UPR to the Chair of the DPD RI and his entourage as a symbol of loyalty and integrity.

Present on behalf of the Governor of Central Kalimantan H. Sugianto Sabran at the event, was the Expert Staff for Social Affairs and Human Resources (HR) Suhaemi. In addition, the event which brought together the academic community, local government, and community leaders was also attended by the members of Central Kalimantan Regional Leadership Coordination Forum, Chair of Central Kalimantan Dayak Customary Council (DAD) and a number of university student organizations.

The event was opened by the Chair of DPD RI AA Lanyalla Mahmud Mattalitti. In his remarks, Lanyalla expressed his appreciation to UPR academic community who raised the theme of Pancasila Economic System in this FGD.

“Since the Indonesian nation declared independence on August 17, 1945, the concept of Pancasila Economy has never been perfectly applied; in the Old Order era and New Order era, especially in the Reformation era until today, so I need to give appreciation to the University of Palangka Raya who raised this theme as a study material in today’s FGD,” explained Lanyalla.

Furthermore, Lanyalla explained that the economic system, which was initiated by the first Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia Muhammad Hatta, consists of 3 sectors namely Cooperatives or Joint Ventures with the People, State-owned Enterprises (BUMN) and Private sector.

“These three sectors have clear demarcation line. Although there may be intersections with each other, but people’s business activities through cooperatives must be given a chance to live, the BUMN domain must answer the state’s obligation to control production branches that concern the livelihood of the people, and private activities are given the opportunity as long as they do not take the area of ​​the previous two sectors, do not kill each other, and as long as they do not harm the people,” explained the chair of DPD RI.

Lanyalla hopes that today’s discussion will produce a concrete contribution to Indonesia. “Hopefully it will produce ideas that will make a concrete contribution to a more sovereign, and independent Indonesia in the future,” he concluded.

In line with the Chair of DPD RI, the Rector of UPR Andrie Elia Embang also hoped that this discussion can produce good recommendations for the creation of a strong economy and be able to prosper the people.

He also conveyed that the position of Central Kalimantan is considered important as a buffer zone for the new capital, East Kalimantan. “Although we are far in remote areas, Indonesia’s future lies in Kalimantan because the capital city of Indonesia is in East Kalimantan. Palangka Raya Municipality, Central Kalimantan is a supporter of the new State Capital,” he explained.

Today’s FGD event was also coupled with the handing over of souvenirs to the Chair of DPD RI. The souvenirs were handed over by Rector of UPR and the Governor of Central Kalimantan, who was represented by the Expert Staff for Social Affairs and Human Resources, Suhaemi.

Furthermore, the Rector of UPR Andrie Elia Embang and the Rector of Palangka Raya Christian University (Unkrip) who was also a lecturer of the Faculty of Economics and Business in UPR Benius become resource persons in this FGD. (ran/ben/trans.by feb)
